Charlie Pascoe

After graduating from the University of Melbourne in 1983 with a BSc (Hons) degree, Charlie began a career in wildlife and threatened species management, working across eastern Victoria. He interspersed this with stints in Antarctica and the sub-Antarctic and travels Africa. In 1995 Charlie joined Victoria’s then National Parks Service as Park Planner for the West Coast District and, later, Environmental Planner for Parks Victoria’s West Region. In 2002 he moved to Bright, where he held a range of positions, including Alpine Grazing Manager, Alps Environmental Program Manager and Alps Flood Recovery Manager. Following a restructure in 2015, Charlie took up the role of Manager Regional Planning for Northern Victoria, which extended from the northern edge of Melbourne to Lake Hume and the Mallee. His key skills include project development and delivery, program management, partnership development, threatened species and community management, invasive plant and animal management, fire and other emergencies planning and management, and visitor experience planning.
Charlie retired from Parks Victoria in 2024 but continues to undertake voluntary work for a range of organisations. He enjoys bushwalking, XC skiing, camping, cycling, four-wheel driving, mountain biking, paddling and enjoying nature in national parks and other protected areas in Victoria and elsewhere around Australia and, occasionally, overseas.
